An Epiphany, of Sorts

Involved in leaving comments here and here with liberal (okay, I'll call you progressive) blogger Sean Braisted, I have come to a conclusion that -- I'm kind of embarrassed to say -- only just now clearly coalesced in my noggin:

Hillary winning the nomination would be good for Republicans, but bad for the country. Obama winning the nomination would be good for the country, but bad for Republicans.

This is because the GOP has a substantially better chance of beating Clinton than Obama in a general election, but Clinton in the White House would be the absolute worst case scenario.

I don't say that merely as a conservative or a Republican. I, of course, think that having a decent Republican in office would be hands down better than having a Democrat in office. However, having Obama in office would be hands down better than having Hillary Clinton in office. I sincerely believe that.

That's weird, I thought I posted a comment already...

Lee, you took the words right out of my mouth. I feel the same way. I disagree with both of their policy sets, but Hillary's all the more. She is all about control.

I think, actually, that "good for the country, bad for Republicans" is a redundancy.

I dunno Tom. It is the Democrats who have placed themselves in the position that any good news out of Iraq, which is by extension good for America, is bad for their party.
